Mike Utley Joined CMC Foundation Effort
2008 Golf Classic Honorary Chair
The Cascade Medical Center
Foundation is pleased to announce that Mike Utley served as
our 2008 Golf Classic Honorary Chair.
Many
will recall Mike’s outstanding football career as a Washington State
Cougar and Detroit Lion. Few will forget that fall day in 1991 when Mike
didn’t get up from a play, but managed to provide his famous ‘thumbs up’
as he was wheeled from the field, making sure his teammates and everyone
present knew that he had hope and that he definitely wasn’t finished.
Mike and his supporters have
created the Mike Utley Foundation, devoted to finding a cure for
paralysis. Among their many fundraising efforts is the annual Dam2Dam
Thumbs Up! Bike Tour running between Rocky Reach Dam and Wells Dam on
the Columbia River in North Central Washington.
The CMC Foundation was honored to
have Mike with us at the Classic and to provide his high level of
enthusiasm to this event.
